Salem, OR – The Salem Police Department is celebrating the graduation of its latest group of recruit officers from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).

The department recognized Recruit Officers Quiroz, Martinez Barrera, Diaz, Crawford, Toddy, and Braden for successfully completing the academy and reaching an important milestone in their law enforcement careers.

According to the department, the graduates will now continue their training through eight weeks of Advanced Academy instruction followed by four months of field training.

The next phase is designed to prepare the recruits for the responsibilities and challenges of serving the Salem community.

Salem Police officials praised the recruits for their commitment to learning and public service, noting that their graduation marks the beginning of their journey as police officers.

The department encouraged community members to welcome the new recruits as they continue their training and work toward making a positive impact in Salem.
