Salem, OR – Salem police arrested a 39-year-old Gresham man following a narcotics investigation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 27 pounds of methamphetamine, according to a media release from the Salem Police Department Strategic Investigations Unit.
The investigation began on April 6, 2026, at approximately 11:43 p.m. on Mission Street SE, where detectives contacted the suspect while he was driving. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle, leading to the discovery of about 10 pounds of methamphetamine concealed inside.
The following day, April 7, detectives received additional information that led them to a motel room near Interstate 5. There, investigators reported recovering an additional 17 pounds of methamphetamine tied to the case.
In total, officers seized approximately 27 pounds of methamphetamine during the investigation.
The suspect was lodged at the Marion County Jail on charges of unlawful delivery and possession of methamphetamine. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and referred further inquiries to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
